Last week, Shanghai celebrated the highly anticipated opening of LEGOLAND® Shanghai Resort—China’s first and the world’s largest LEGO theme park. The event drew a wave of excitement, with over 7,500 guests entering within the first hour, despite soaring summer temperatures. Designed to welcome up to 20,000 visitors daily during peak periods, the park is expected to attract more than 2.4 million guests annually.
Aden is proud to be the Integrated Facility Management (IFM) partner for this landmark project, working hand-in-hand with Merlin Entertainments, one of the world’s leading theme park operators. From planning to grand opening, Aden played a pivotal role in delivering the operational readiness and service excellence required for a smooth and successful launch.
Precision in Preparation, Excellence in Execution
Behind the scenes, Aden mobilized more than 350 professionals across cleaning, maintenance, crowd control, and technical support. Our team implemented 24/7 smart facility management and emergency response systems, ensuring every detail—from guest flow to equipment uptime—was flawlessly managed.
During the run-up to opening day, Aden developed comprehensive contingency plans, deployed intelligent digital tools, and conducted rigorous training for frontline teams. This integrated approach ensured a safe, seamless, and highly polished guest experience from day one.
A Regional Landmark for Tourism and Culture
Covering 318,000 square meters, LEGOLAND® Shanghai is the 11th park in the global LEGO portfolio and the 3rd in Asia. Featuring over 75 rides and attractions across eight immersive zones, the park showcases 85 million LEGO bricks and countless hours of creativity.
More than a theme park, the resort is a strategic project under Shanghai’s 14th Five-Year Plan and plays a vital role in the Yangtze River Delta’s cultural tourism ecosystem. Located in the Jinshan District, the resort is expected to become a catalyst for regional economic growth and a flagship in the integration of entertainment and infrastructure.
Aden’s partnership with Merlin Entertainments represents a new benchmark for facility management in large-scale entertainment venues. As cultural tourism continues to evolve in China, Aden is committed to enabling high-impact projects through smart solutions, professional service delivery, and deep operational know-how.
We look forward to continuing our work with forward-thinking partners who are reshaping the future of tourism, entertainment, and destination management—one brick at a time.
