Aden Services is excited to announce the launch of a major bauxite refining project, where it has led the recruitment and deployment of a 52-person team. This team will operate using IB2’s technology to pioneer new refining capabilities, transforming low-grade bauxite into high-grade bauxite by removing silica, sulfur, and organic carbon.
In doing so, Aden will demonstrate new opportunities to reduce Scope 3 emissions for industries across APAC by producing commercial-grade aluminum with far less requirement for imports. This IB2 solution is strategically important not only in China but for other countries which are rich in low- to medium-grade bauxite reserves, such as Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Australia, India and Turkey.
This first project with IB2 builds on a multi-year collaboration at the Senze site in Shanxi Province, China. Under the new partnership, Aden will provide end-to-end support for the project’s operational deployment, including technical and operational recruitment, remote site management, localized facility management services, and complex project execution.
Leveraging its extensive experience in industrial operations across Asia, Aden will play a central role in helping IB2 scale its revolutionary green technology. This first-phase project is expected to expand into a larger Phase II in collaboration with regional government stakeholders.
At the core of the project is IB2’s patented refining process, which converts low-grade, high-silica bauxite—once considered unviable—into high-quality material for aluminum production using a cleaner, more energy-efficient method. This innovation shortens supply chains and unlocks new opportunities for localized refining, production, and global industrial resilience:
- Up to 30% increase in ore utilization
- Up to 40% reduction in carbon emissions—equivalent to 210,000 tons of CO₂ saved per 1 million tons of bauxite processed
